Stop Rerolling: Edit AI Images Layer by Layer with Reveal-Layer
1. AI images look beautiful—but can be hard to edit
AI image generation has advanced rapidly in recent years. A single sentence can produce a poster, a product image, or an illustration. Creators soon encounter a frustrating limitation, however: the image looks good, but its elements are flattened together.
Want to change an element, replace the background, or reposition the subject? With everything locked into a single bitmap, the usual answer is to start over and generate another version, hoping for a better result. Elements that are fused together and difficult to edit locally remain a major obstacle to making AI image generation a practical creative tool.
360 Reveal-Layer offers a direct answer: separate a flattened AI-generated image into independently editable layers.
2. More than separation: understanding and reconstruction
Reveal-Layer does more than cut objects out. It combines understanding with reconstruction so that every extracted layer is independent, usable, and visually complete.
Semantic understanding and intelligent detection
AI-driven semantic understanding identifies subjects, backgrounds, and other elements automatically. It suggests an initial set of layers based on the image content, so you do not have to start by drawing every selection yourself.
Intelligent content completion
What happens to the background hidden behind a foreground object? Reveal-Layer uses diffusion-based inpainting to fill those regions naturally. Each layer remains visually complete when used independently, without manual repairs.
Full customization
You can use the model's suggested layer boxes or add, remove, and resize boxes yourself to define exactly how the image should be separated.
3. A practical walkthrough: separate a poster into layers
The official demonstration uses a portrait poster. The following walkthrough explains each screen and action.
Step 0: open the product page
In the website navigation, choose Products → Reveal-Layer. The product page shows a layer-separation example on the left and describes its core capability on the right: extracting the layers you need instead of indiscriminately splitting the entire image.

Select Try now to open the Interactive Playground. Module selection is on the left, the image canvas is in the center, and the layer results appear on the right.

Step 1: choose a module
Select Beginner guide to open the six-step walkthrough. First, choose the appropriate module: the general module supports photos, paintings, and other common images, while the poster module is designed for posters containing text and design elements.

Step 2: upload an image
Upload a local image or paste an image URL into the input field. Once the image loads, the system automatically detects potential layers.

Step 3: review the detected boxes
Detected layers appear as green boxes on the canvas. In this example, the model identifies the face, the person's outline, and several text regions. Drag a box to adjust its position and size, or select its upper-right delete button to remove it.

Step 4: add boxes manually
If the model misses an object, select the + button at the lower left and drag a rectangular box over the image to define a region that should become an independent layer.

Step 5: separate the layers and inspect the results
Select Start layer separation. After processing, the Layer display panel on the right shows the results, including regular layers and AI-enhanced layers. This example produces four layers: the background, an enhanced background, the subject, and an enhanced subject. Select any image to enlarge it, or use Export PPT or Download all images.

4. What can you do with the layers?
Independent, transparent layers open up new creative possibilities:
- Replace the background: keep the subject while changing the scene behind it.
- Edit individual elements: replace, remove, or recolor one part without changing everything else.
- Recompose the image: combine layers freely to create new compositions and many variations from one image.
- Refine iteratively: polish the image layer by layer, in successive passes, as a professional designer would.
5. A new level of creative control
The release of 360 Reveal-Layer represents more than a new tool. It marks a substantial advance in the editability and controllability of AI-generated content.
Instead of passively accepting a generated result, creators can regain control: select the parts they want to separate and refine them layer by layer.
Try Reveal-Layer for free and start editing the elements you choose.
